Calliope Odessa Pierce
(Ka-LYE-oh-pee)
FACE CLAIM: Candice Accola
♦ THE BASICS ♦AGE: 22
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Homosexual
POSITION: Local - Artist♦ THE CHARACTER ♦HEIGHT: 5'7"
HAIR COLOR: Blonde
EYE COLOR: Blue
MISC: A tattoo of flying birds on her shoulder blade.
PERSONALITY: Calliope is a cheerful and filled with joy. She is positive to the point of being annoying. She always tries to look at the bright things in life, even if it looks bleak. There's always a sunrise after a sundown. Calliope is also free-spirited. She doesn't let anything or anyone hold her down. She's the modern version of a hippy. She strongly believes in peace and doesn't think war or confrontation is the answer. This, however, doesn't mean Calliope can't speak up for herself, because she can. She just chooses what battles to fight, and which not to.
Calliope is also very in tune with her emotions and often, let them control her. She cares strongly about people, even those she's just met. She thinks that freedom of speech is a human right, but that everyone also has the right to stay silent and not abuse it. Mature for her age is another good way to describe her, though to some, Calliope may appear intense.
She doesn't have a shy bone in her body and more often than not speaks without thinking (She can be very blunt), though never means anything bad about it. She considers herself to be kind and caring and is easy to take advantage of, because she can also be extremely naive. Being creative is something Calliope is certain she was born with. She isn't only creative when it comes to drawing and painting, but in general as well.
SECRET(S): None.♦ THE HISTORY ♦FATHER: Daniel Pierce
MOTHER: Delphine Pierce
SIBLINGS: Carter Pierce, older brother
WORTHY MENTIONS: N/A
CHILDHOOD: Calliope was born a beautiful summer evening to her British father Daniel and her Greek mother, Delphine. The two of them met while Daniel was on a business trip in Greece and they quickly fell in love. The product of their love was a happy marriage and two doting children. Daniel quit his job and settled down in Greece with his growing family.
What Calliope can remember from her childhood, is that it was happy. Her parents were happy, her brother was happy and she was happy. Despite the cultural differences between her father and mother, they were very open with each other and their children. It was extremely important for Delphine that her children got the opportunity to explore themselves as people, so Calliope's upbringing wasn't exactly strict. She and her brother was free to do as they pleased and go where they wanted.
It quickly became apparent that Calliope, like her mother, had a knack for drawing and painting. She also loved it and spend every second of her free time painting and drawing. Every birthday, all she ever asked for was new paint, brushes and pencils and her parents happily complied.
ADOLESCENCE: Even as high school came and went, Calliope's love for the arts didn't lessen. If anything, it only grew more and more. It almost consumed her. It was all she ever thought of and all she ever wanted to do. Her grades fell more and more and her parents started worrying that maybe, just maybe, her interest in art was nothing more than a distraction. But then again, if it made her happy, that was the most important thing, right?
And it did make her happy. It made her feel free and adventurous. So, with her parents help, she managed to get through high school. Perhaps not at the top of her class, but decent enough to at least get into a college if she wanted.
But that wasn't for Calliope. At least, not yet. Right now, she wanted to explore the world of arts and that was exactly what she did. Her father didn't agree and believed that his daughter ought to get a good education, but her mother understood her daughter's calling and finally, with the support of her family, Calliope started traveling around the world to learn more about herself and learn new things about art. So she did.
ADULTHOOD: Calliope spent the next few years traveling, working odd jobs and painting. She learned many new techniques and forms of art, and she brought all of these with her back home after deciding to return to her family. Too old to move back with her parents, Calliope got herself a small studio apartment on top of an old bookstore.
Calliope now spends her days working in the bookstore and painting. She still thinks she has many more things to see and learn, but for the time being she's very content staying right where she is. Who knows what Edenbourg might offer her?♦ THE PLAYER ♦USERNAME: Mel
