Welcome to Edenbourg!
We've made this handy guide to make joining and the application process easier for you. We're an original slice-of-life site with a great community of Staff and members. We're here to make the site a good home for you, so please, don't hesitate with asking the Staff if there's anything you need help with - that's why we're here, after all.
Before apping your character, make sure that you've checked out the PLOT, as this gives a general idea of what this site is about. You should also check out the CLAIMS as this shows you what face claims and such that are available and which ones are taken. If you like what we have to offer and you're willing to comply to the RULES, go ahead and start creating your character! You can register with whatever name you want, but before your character can be accepted, you need to change your display name to your character's first and last name, properly capitalized. Also, another important fact to remember is that we're a one account per character kind of site.
If you take a look at the APPLICATION section, you can find both of the applications we offer, a basic and a freeform one. The first section is where you put your application, regardless if it's finished or simply a wip. Once reviewed, it'll either be accepted or put in the second folder, where it'll be until the asked changes have been made. The third folder is for declined applications, which usually means applications that haven't been edited or bumped for two weeks (this can be moved back my sending a PM to one of the staff members).
The application will then be reviewed by a staff member (bumping when it's finished by posting or letting us know once is fine; please don't nag us, we get to these super quick, promise). Sometimes everything is right and the character jumps right to acceptance. Other times, you'll get a PM from a staff member pointing out some specific changes. Remember: when a staffer asks for edits, do them. And make sure you read over the messages thoroughly. Don't just write an extra sentence when we ask for more (unless we say that's okay); we will often end up sending you a PM pretty much repeating what you've already been told.
Once the edit of your application is finished, BUMP it by commenting it. A Staff member will get to it as quickly as they can. The process repeats until the character is accepted (and it usually doesn't take that many edits).
Once you're accepted, please do your claims. And check out our Creative Space for graphics, forum games and such. Remember that if you need help designing graphics for your play-by, there are plenty of people who will help. Also take a look at the General Discussion section.
When you're done with that, hit up the character ads or take a look at the Open thread Directory to get on with the threadage!
